Cops: Stratford Man Steals CO2, Struggles with Officer

Milford police say they found cocaine and a narcotic pill on the 20-year-old Stratford resident.

A Milford police officer was forced to engage in a physical struggle with a 20-year-old suspect during an arrest on March 17, according to police.

The suspect, who police identified as Joseph Gombas of Stratford, allegedly attempted to steal three boxes of CO2 cartridges from at the .

When police responded to the 1201 Boston Post Road location at 9:50 p.m., Gombas reportedly became uncooperative and physically struggled with an officer.

While being taken into custody, police said, the officer found a half-gram of cocaine and a narcotic prescription pill on Gombas.

He was charged with sixth-degree larceny, interfering with police and two counts of possession of narcotics.

Gombas was released on a promise to appear in court on April 3.
