Cops: Stratford Teen Flees Officer Following Report of Gunshots

A 19-year-old McPadden Drive resident was arrested on a slew of charges Saturday after police said he fled an officer who was investigating a report of gunfire on Woodend Road.

Terrell Britton took off on foot after an officer asked him to remove his hand from his pocket, police said. He then entered a nearby home where he discarded a handgun before being apprehended by police, according to the report.

Stratford police said they later located several shell casings and discovered two bullets in the door and wall of a house near the intersection of Woodend Road and Elm Terrace.

Britton was charged with the following:

  • Carrying a pistol without a permit
  • Unlawful discharge of a firearm
  • Altering firearm identification
  • Second-degree burglary with a firearm
  • Risk of injury to a minor (2 counts)
  • First-degree reckless endangerment
  • First-degree breach of peace
  • Second-degree criminal mischief

Britton was held on $250,000 bond and is due in court June 8.

A search warrant was served at Britton's McPadden Drive residence and resulted in the following narcotics arrests:

Kendal McClain, 23, of Woodend Road, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to sell.

Shadeed Valentine, 23, of Short Beach Road, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and interfering with an officer.

Delron Britton, 21, of McPadden Drive, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to sell.

Quincy Adderly, 30, of McPadden Drive, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to sell.

All four men were held on $10,000 bond and are due in court June 8.
