Cops: Stratford Stabbing Victim 'Randomly Chosen'

Fedele Poppa of Stratford is charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, in addition to other charges, for the incident on Canaan Court Sunday morning, police said.

Stratford police Monday arrested a 26-year-old local man who they say stabbed an 18-year-old male multiple times at random on Sunday.

Fedele Poppa is charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, among other charges, in connection with the Sunday morning stabbing in a parking lot at 41 Canaan Court, Stratford.

"At this time it appears that Poppa had randomly chosen the victim of the assault," Stratford Police Lt. Frank Eannotti said in a statement. "Several witnesses stated that he was seen walking through the apartment complex acting 'strangely.'"
