Cops: Stolen Car Crashes Into House

Bridgeport man faces several charges.

The driver of suspected stolen vehicle was arrested Friday after police said he fled officers in Stratford before crashing into a house in Bridgeport.

Theoppolis Sims, 30, of Bridgeport faces charges of third-degree larceny, reckless driving, engaging police in a pursuit and interfering with an officer.

Stratford police said the pursuit started around Bruce and Barnum avenues after the owner of the suspected stolen car spotted it parked in the area with an unknown male in the driver's seat.

The pursuit was short and ended when the car crashed into a house on North Ridgefield Avenue in Bridgeport, police said.

Sims initially gave officers a false name, police said. The Bridgeport man was held in lieu of $50,000 bond.

The Bridgeport Police Department investigated the incident.
