The driver of suspected stolen vehicle was arrested Friday after police said he fled officers in Stratford before crashing into a house in Bridgeport.

Theoppolis Sims, 30, of Bridgeport faces charges of third-degree larceny, reckless driving, engaging police in a pursuit and interfering with an officer.

Stratford police said the pursuit started around Bruce and Barnum avenues after the owner of the suspected stolen car spotted it parked in the area with an unknown male in the driver's seat.

The pursuit was short and ended when the car crashed into a house on North Ridgefield Avenue in Bridgeport, police said.

Sims initially gave officers a false name, police said. The Bridgeport man was held in lieu of $50,000 bond.

The Bridgeport Police Department investigated the incident.

Arrest information supplied by the Stratford Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Anne, instead of name calling black people go and do something positive for one. Helping one black kid understand white racists and their ways may prevent this in the future. Calling them names won't help.

My comment had nothing to do with race, only the foolish thing he did. Too bad YOU thought that way...

Once again, your quick name calling of a black person in need of help is uncalled for. Too bad YOU think that way towards black people as losers if they make a mistake. Wonder why you are not calling the white people who do worse, losers? foolish for me to spot that too?

You're an idiot...how about that?? And I don't know what color you are. If it was a white person, I would have made the same comment, who are YOU to say?? Anyone who is a danger to society especially in my town, I'll say what I want. You don't know ANYTHING about me. Go ahead and spring this guy out of jail, and give him some counseling. Good luck with that...

Once again, instead of name calling and justifying your racism with "dangers to society" go help a black kid suffering from worse name calling for doing nothing but being black. That kid will vent his anger usually with crime or substance abuse. I think you need some help and counseling for that rage before you can help someone else though.
