Cops: Mass. Teen Threatens to Kill Officers, Motel Staff

A 19-year-old Massachusetts woman was arrested Thursday, Jan. 26, after she allegedly cursed at and threatened to kill cops and staff inside the lobby of the .
Joy Banks was reportedly "throwing herself around" the lobby of the Stratford Avenue motel and at one point yelled at a staff member, "I am going to kill you and your kids," police said.
Police said Banks continued her aggressive behavior when they arrived at around 4:45 p.m. She reportedly refused to be handcuffed and cursed at officers.

An ID check allegedly revealed Banks had an active warrant out of Bridgeport for a failure to appear in court charge with a $500 court set bond.
At headquarters, Banks reportedly spat at officers. Police said she admitted during booking to drinking alcohol before the altercation at the motel.

Banks was charged with the following:
- Breach of peace
- Interfering with officer
- Assault on a police officer
- Second-degree threatening
Banks was also processed for the warrant out of Bridgeport. She was unable to post $10,000 bond, police said.
