Cops: DUI Suspect Dragged Traffic Cones

Stratford man nabbed in Milford on Monday.

A Stratford man was arrested Monday night after he allegedly ran over traffic cones and roadway flares set up to alert motorists to a large pot hole, police said.

The traffic safety devices were positioned on Old Gate Lane in Milford, local police said.

Patrick Nash, 51, allegedly disregarded the cones and flares and drove over the objects, dragging the cones underneath the vehicle before police conducted a motor vehicle stop.

During the stop, police said there was evidence Nash was operating under the influence of alcohol and a breathalyzer test later indicated an elevated blood alcohol level.

The Stratford man was charged with DUI and traveling too fast for conditions. He had been held in lieu of $500 bond.
