Car Strikes Man in Stratford

The man, said to be in his seventies, suffered head injuries from the accident Friday night.

A man in his seventies was hospitalized Friday night after he was struck by a car traveling on Ferry Boulevard near Broad Street.

The pedestrian suffered head injuries and was transported to the hospital, said Stratford police Sgt. Ariel Leon.

Leon could not elaborate on the man's condition beyond that.

The accident happened shortly after 10 p.m. Friday. The driver of the car did not flee the area, Leon said. No charges have yet to be filed, he said.

A section of Ferry Boulevard was blocked off as investigators inspected the scene into early Saturday morning.

What kind of statement is " The driver of the car did not flee th area..."? Makes it sound like it is the norm for people to flee the area after an accident. I realize it may be the norm in Bridgeport, according to powers in the Democratic party there, but it seems like such a ridiculous statement to make when reporting on an accident.

Let us please say a prayer for the man who was hit. He is a friend of mine and is in ICU in Bridgeport Hospital.
