On March 26, police were dispatched to Homewood Suites on Main Street on a report of a domestic disturbance.

The woman then gave a police a written report that said in the morning that day she had gotten into an argument with her boyfriend, Richard Shanley, 44, of Bridgeport, while inside the hotel room.

The woman told police that Shanley allegedly started yelling and banging on the wall, the cabinets in the kitchen and he ended up breaking the microwave door of the oven. He then packed up all his clothes and took her clothes, also including black leather boots, jeans, leather jacket and a black shirt, valued at $300.

She told police that after Shanley left, she called him on his cell phone and he said he was not returning. Since the woman had no other clothes to leave the establishment, she called police.

Police then called Shanley on the phone and he stated he did not take her clothes, and that they had a party for his birthday the night before in the room. That morning, he said, they had an argument and he left the room.

He agreed to turn himself in to police headquarters “within a couple of hours.”

In the meantime, dispatch advised police on the scene that the woman, Lila Williams, 25, of Waterbury had an outstanding warrant for violation of probation. She was given a white jumpsuit to wear and was taken to headquarters and charged with violation of probation and held in $10,000 bond pending court.

Dispatch also advised that there was a protective order in place against Shanley protecting Williams and ordering him to avoid all contact with her. When Shanley arrived at headquarters, he was charged with violating a court protective order, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. Bond was set at $500.
