Police Collar Alleged Shoplifter

A New Haven man was arrested after an alleged attempt to steal clothing from the Burlington Coat Factory at 800 Barnum Avenue Cut-Off, on July 2.
Franklin R. Wells, 46, of 151 Roger White Drive, New Haven, was observed by store security personnel attempting to leave the store with six shirts and a pair of shoes without paying for the items, according to the police report.
He was charged with larceny in the sixth degree. Bond was set at $1,500 and he is scheduled for a court appearance on July 13.
