The force of the crash reportedly pushes the town truck more than 100 feet.

An alleged drunken driver plowed into a Stratford Public Works Department truck last night following the town’s fireworks display, according to police.

The DPW truck driver was reportedly hurt in the accident, although police did not report his name or the extent of his injuries.

The accident occurred Sunday at 11:45 p.m. on Lordship Boulevard while the town truck was transporting portable lights, police said.

The town fireworks display took place about two hours earlier at , which is nearby, although police were not able to confirm that the town truck was there for that reason.

The accident report said police measured 168-foot-long skid marks at the scene and the town truck was pushed 111 feet by the force of the crash. According to police, it occurred when a Dodge Dynasty operated by Robert Lundequist, 23, of 570 May St., Naugatuck, hit the town truck.

Lundequist reportedly failed a sobriety test and was charged with DUI, no insurance and reckless driving. He was held on $1,000 bond and scheduled for a court appearance on July 12.
