'Two' Much Love?

What’s a double-booked dating columnist to do on the most romantic day of the year?

Valentine’s Day: it's inescapable. Almost anywhere you look today, you’ll see it. Red and pink hearts adorn shop windows, little heart-shaped boxes of chocolates are in grocery stores, pharmacies and gas stations, every sappy love song ever written will be requested on the radio, florists are zipping in and out of traffic jams, and restaurants are advertising their special sweetheart menus. I’ve even seen a house or two flying red and white sweetheart flags, something I personally think is a little much.

To be honest, it’s not my favorite holiday. I prefer sunflowers to roses and books to flowers. The cliché Valentine’s Day goody bag doesn’t do much to get my blood pumping, but, before you call me unromantic, get this: I have two dates tonight!

Three boys this year asked me to be their Valentine. That’s an all-time record for me, increasing my Valentines by a full 300 percent.

One invited me to have dinner with him in New York City, but I couldn’t fit in a trip down there, so I asked for a rain check. As for the other two, we’ll be having dinner together and I’ll be interviewing them for this week’s column.

Tune in Saturday morning to see how it went.
