Stratford's only movie theater is closing to make way for an LA Fitness club.

I was horrified to read that Stratford's only well used, popular movie theater is being closed to make way for an LA Fitness center! Stratford already has at least three gyms, we do not need another, especially an overpriced one like LA Fitness. Is anyone willing to start a petition to try and get this decision overturned? Who should we complain to about this ridiculous idea? I'm not sure where to start, but feel this is not good for the town, and would like some support/advice from the community on how to go about fighting this.
