Stratford Parents' Place Offers Program for Home Child Care Providers

Stratford Parents' Place, Family Friends and Neighbors Project

Stratford Parents’ Place (SPP) is pleased to announce that the United Way of Coastal Fairfield County is continuing to provide funding for the Family, Friends, and Neighbors’ Project. Many Stratford children, birth through preschool, are in the daily care of family, friends, and neighbors in their homes. Through this project, Stratford Parents’ Place offers programs and services to these providers. Services include a lending library of learning bags, ongoing provider outreach and support, a home visiting program focusing on child development, and provider/child activity sessions held at Parents’ Place the first Friday of every month.
One of the most exciting components of the Family, Friends, and Neighbors Project is the Ready to Go Learning Bags. These bags, filled with books, games, arts and crafts materials, are available for family, friends, and neighbors to borrow and use for up to three weeks at a time. A trained parent educator from SPP delivers the bags and gives instructions on their use. There are 27 Ready to Go Bags that are available to borrow.
Stratford Parents’ Place is a family resource center, located at Stratford Academy/Johnson House, 719 Birdseye Street, is a program of the Stratford Public Schools. All programs and services are for Stratford residents. For more information about this exciting program, please call Stratford Parents’ Place at 203-381-6992 or at www.stratfordk12.org.
