Margaret L. Ciaffone Liscinsky, age 76, of Stratford, the widow of Joseph R. Liscinsky, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2012 in Bridgeport Hospital.
Mrs. Liscinsky, a homemaker, was born in Bridgeport to the late John and Louise (Georgette) Ciaffone, and has been a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of Stratford High School, where she was fondly known as “The Voice” nicknamed by her high school sweetheart; her late husband Joe.
Margaret was a professionally trained singer, winning the Barnum Festival’s Jenny Lind Contest, in 1954, and also appearing at Carnegie Hall and on the Ed Sullivan Show, that same year. She was also an active member of Calvary Evangelical Free Church, where she was active in the Bible Study.
Survivors include her devoted children Joseph J. Liscinsky and his wife Robyn of Milford, and Beverly Seifried, of Virginia Beach, VA, 5 cherished grandchildren, Jason Seifried and his wife Robin, Jamie, and Jonathon Seifried, Sheri and Kelly Liscinsky, 6 great-grandchildren, T.J., Brianna, Savannah, Alex, Jessica, and C.J., and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her beloved husband of over fifty years and parents, she was pre-deceased by a grandson Joseph J. Liscinsky Jr, brothers Peter, John and Michael Ciaffone, and sister Mary Soltesz.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, October 19, at 9 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, and at 10 a.m. in Calvary Evangelical Free Church, Trumbull. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Stratford.
