Obituary: Laurice Davies, 91

Laurice was a strong-spirited woman who loved spending precious time with her loving family.

Laurice A. Doumar Davies, age 91, of Stratford, the beloved wife of the late Harry Davies passed away suddenly on March 27, 2013 in Bridgeport Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Laurice was born on April 3, 1921 in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was the daughter of the late Raphael and Anna Homsey Doumar.

Laurice had been an Avon Cosmetics representative for 40 years and was a member of their President’s Club, a member of the Stratford Baldwin Center, enjoyed traveling, visiting the casinos, playing bingo and most of all was a strong-spirited woman who loved spending precious time with her loving family.

Laurice is survived by her son William J. Safee Jr. of Monroe, her daughter Lucille Demers and husband Ronald of Stratford, seven grandchildren, Ronald and wife Dawn, Richard and wife Nadia, Robin and husband Charles, Robert and wife Susan, Elaine and husband Chuck, William III, and Justin, 14 great grandchildren, one great great grandson, one sister Louise Ambrose and husband Stephen of Trumbull and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Harry, she is also predeceased by her brother Edmond.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 3, at 10 a.m. in the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main St., Stratford, officiated by the Rev. Kun Sam Cho. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery Fairfield. Friends may call at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
