Obituary: Joseph Babasick, Age 79

Joseph J. Babasick, age 79, of Stratford, beloved husband of Phyllis Gautiero Babasick, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 in his home.

Mr. Babasick, a retired tool and die maker for the General Electric Company was born in Bridgeport to the late Andrew and Elizabeth (Takach) Babasick and has been a lifelong area resident.

He was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club, and St. Mark’s Church. Joseph graduated from Bullard Havens Technical School, and loved to “tinker” and could fix anything around the house, he was very proud of his homemade Christmas tree stands.

He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Survivors in addition to his beloved wife include his devoted sons Paul Babasick of Houston, TX, and Dr. David (Babasick) Lauren and his wife Beverly of Huntington, 2 grandchildren Andrew and Olivia Babasick, and 3 step-grandchildren Brendan, Brianna, and Brody Biebel, a brother John J. Babasick and his wife Anne of Greenville, SC and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 10 a.m. in St. Mark Church 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Friday from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford.
