Obituary: John J. 'Yash' Grebla, Age 59

John J."Yash" Grebla, age 59, of Stratford, beloved husband of Janet Sorensen Grebla, passed away suddenly, on Monday, December 3, 2012 in his home.

John, a 1972 graduate of Bullard Havens Technical High School, was born in Bridgeport, to the late Jan and Sabina (Szamotula) Grebla and has been a lifelong area resident.

He was an avid sports fan, cheering on the Pittsburg Steelers, the NY Mets, and the UConn Huskies. John also enjoyed his vegetable garden.

Survivors in addition to his beloved wife, include his stepchildren Jeremy Kassib, and Jason Kassib and his wife Cori all of Colorado, a grandson Grayson, 3 brothers Thadeus Grebla of New Milford, Joseph Grebla and his wife Tracy of Shelton, and Michael Grebla of Ansonia, and nieces and nephews, Michelle Hayes and her husband Dave, Kimberly and Joey Grebla.

Friends may greet John's family on Thursday, Dec. 6, from 4:30 to 7p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. A prayer service will be held at 6:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations to the American Parkinson's Disease Association 27 Allendale Drive North Haven, Conn. 06473 in John's Memory.
