Obituary: Irene Kuchta, 69

Irene loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and enjoyed her Saturday nights out with her husband.

Irene R. McCormick Kuchta, age 69 of the Lordship section of Stratford the beloved wife of Ronald G. Kuchta passed away peacefully on March 20, 2013 in her residence with her loving family by her side.

Irene was born on April 30, 1943 and was the daughter of the late Frank and Kathleen Bowen McCormick.

She was employed by Holmes Transportation for many years as a secretary. Irene was an avid reader, loved hosting summer holiday pool parties with family and friends and enjoyed visiting the casino and playing slots. She also loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and enjoyed her Saturday nights out with her husband.

In addition to her beloved husband Ronald of 50 years, Irene is also survived by two daughters Robin Ann Kuchta of Stratford and Kimberly Jill Reed and husband John of Stratford, four cherished grandchildren Robert C. Harvey Jr.,Veronika Lynsey Uhliar, Taylor K. Reed and John P. Reed Jr., one sister Kathleen McCormick Petitte, her adored pets Scruffy, Simba and Cuddles and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Irene was also predeceased by one brother-in-law Vincent Petitte.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. The family would like to thank the Bridgeport Hospital Stroke Unit nurses, the nurses at VITAS Hospice Homecare in Stratford and her nurse and caregiver her sister Kathleen.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Irene’s memory to VITAS Hospice Care, 99 Hawley Lane, Suite 1204, 2nd Floor, Stratford, Conn. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main St., Stratford.
