Obituary: Helen Soltis Hritz, Age 82

Helen Soltis Hritz, age 82, of Stratford, the widow of Michael (Lefty) Hritz, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2012 in Bridgeport Hospital.

Mrs. Hritz, a retired auditor for the State of Connecticut, was born in Bridgeport, to the late George and Helen (Pjatak) Soltis and has been a lifelong area resident.

She was a graduate of Harding High School, and was a member of the Class of 1947 reunion committee. She was also a lifelong member of the Carpatho Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist, where she was a former Church Officer, member of the Mother’s and Daughter’s Club, Senior “R” Club, and Seniors.

Survivors include her beloved children Michael N. Hritz and his wife Elizabeth of San Diego, CA, William J. Hritz and his partner Michael Kascak of Boston, MA, and Holly Mesavage and her husband Peter of Stratford, 3 cherished grandchildren Peter M. Mesavage and his wife Brie, Sara A. Mesavage, and Julie H. Mesavage all of Stratford, her great-grandson Brody, a brother William T. Soltis of Bridgeport, sisters and brothers in law Joseph Hritz and his wife Mary, Helen Skirkanich, Madeline Bottone, and Margaret Zaniewski, her devoted caregivers Tony and Alba Moran, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was pre-deceased by a brother George Soltis.

In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations in Helen’s memory to St. John’s Senior “R” Club Scholarship Fund.
