Obituary: Gloria DiPasquale, 76

Gloria lived a humble and active life, graciously dedicating herself to caring for others.

Gloria Immaculate Benedetto DiPasquale of Stratford was taken to her heavenly resting place on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013 at the age of 76.

Gloria was born on June 3, 1936 in Bridgeport and was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Jennie Tufano Benedetto. Gloria was a lifelong resident of Stratford and graduated from Stratford High School. She was retired from Avco Lycoming, where she worked as a security secretary.

Gloria had a heart of gold. Her deep compassion and generous spirit nurtured many. Gloria lived a humble and active life, graciously dedicating herself to caring for others. She was a faithful and trusting woman of God, who appreciated all of life’s blessings.

Gloria embraced each day with joy and shared it with everyone she knew. She was known to all as "Aunt Gloria" and was loved and adored by so many. She will be greatly missed and her spirit will remain forever in our hearts.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, John and cherished son Anthony of Stratford, who she loved and cared for with every ounce of her being. She is also survived by her brothers, Louis Benedetto and his wife Gayle of Trumbull, Conn.; Thomas Benedetto and his wife Kathleen of Newtown, Conn.; Joseph Benedetto and his wife Beverly of Stratford, Conn., along with several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who love and miss her deeply. Gloria was also predeceased by her great niece, Sienna Palkovic.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 at 9 a.m. in the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main St., Stratford and at 10 a.m. in the Holy Name of Jesus Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Andrew G. Marus.

Entombment will follow in St. Michael’s Garden Mausoleum Stratford. Friends may call at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home on Friday from 4-7 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, those who so desire may contribute to The Kennedy Center 2440 Reservoir Ave., Trumbull.
