Obituary: Anthony 'Tony' Dragone, 79

Anthony "Tony" Dragone, age 79, of Stratford, the beloved husband of the late Mary Ann Bavolacco Dragone passed away peacefully on March 2, 2013 in his residence with his loving family by his side.

Tony was born on July 7, 1933 in Bridgeport and was the son of the late Antonio and Antoinette DeChario Dragone. He was employed by the Town of Stratford for 45 years and was the former President and supervisor of the Union of the Town of Stratford and lifetime member of the Pequonnock Yacht Club.

Tony also loved boating, fishing, visiting the casino and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Tony is survived by two sons, Anthony J. Dragone and wife Danielle of Stratford and Joseph A. Dragone and wife Valery of Stratford, four grandchildren Anthony, Madelyn, Joseph Jr. and Jessica, one brother Fred Dragone and wife Linda of Port Charlotte, Florida, one sister Sandy Gellatly and husband Bill of Stratford and several cherished nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife Mary Ann, Tony was also predeceased by one sister Madeline Gellatly.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 8 a.m. in the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main St., Stratford and at 9 a.m. in St. James Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Thomas Lynch. Interment will follow in St. Johns Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
