Thank you for Supporting Stratford Cat Project:  Paws for the Cause: Cats, Caring and Community

The Stratford Cat Project would like to extend our special thanks to all who supported, attended or donated to our recent fundraiser, Paws
for the Cause: Cats, Caring and Community
, which was held at the Sterling  House on July 28.   The fundraiser had a dual purpose:  (1) to benefit the rescued cats and kittens of Stratford Cat Project; and (2) to fill the food pantry of the
Sterling House for subsequent distribution to those in need.

Thanks to the generosity of so many, I am happy to report that our fundraiser was a huge success.   We raised money for our rescued cats and collected non perishable food donations to help stock the Sterling House’s food
pantry. Guests at the event enjoyed a variety of entertainment that included
music, a fashion show, and a magic act. Temporary tattoos and caricatures were
also available.

The event could not have been a success without the generosity of so many.
We’d like to thank our sponsors, Attorneys Brody and Wilkinson, PC,  Southport; Scott Jisonna, Jisonna Home Services, Stratford;  Wheels Convenience
Stores; Milford Photo; Airshow Graphics Photography (Tony Tylutki;) Lordship
Pizza, Stratford;  and Dr. Paul Carpenter, Chiropractic Associates,
Bridgeport.  A huge thank you is sent to Lauren Collier of News 12’s Pet Talk, and Weekend Meteorologist, for hosting our event and for judging our Pet Photo Contest.   We are grateful to Mickey and Bill of Wry Bred, who entertained us with their special mix of Celtic/contra music; to Jessie of The Look on Main Boutique, Stratford, who worked with our SCP volunteers to model her latest fashions; and to Danny Magic, Shelton, who put on an amazing magic show that had all of us baffled!   Many of our volunteers and supporters are still sporting their tattoos, courtesy of  Mario, Forest to Shore Gallery, Stratford,  and showing
off their caricatures, which were done by Mike Valentine, Fairfield.
John and his crew at 99 Restaurant, Stratford, provided and donated a delicious
variety of food for the event.  We’d also like to thank Ray O’Donnell and all those at the Sterling House who allowed us to use the house for our fundraiser.

Many local businesses provided gift cards; the list is too long to include here; however, please check out the list on Stratford Cat Project’s  website, www.stratfordcatproject.org.  Because of their generosity, SCP was able to
have wonderful baskets of gift cards and goods for raffle!  Please patronize these folks whenever you can to support our local businesses who contribute to community efforts.

Finally, a heartfelt thank you is extended to all of our volunteers, who worked tirelessly to make this event a success.

Without all of you, the nextstep in SCP’s  journey of finding “furever” homes for so many homeless, abandoned and abused animals would not be
possible!  On behalf of SCP and the over 3,000 animals we have rescued/rehomed to date, thanks to all for your generosity, compassion and kindness.
