Health & Fitness

The brawl from forest to shore will get ugly before election day.

Before the main event that pits the title holder, Republican Mayor John Harkins against the pretender to the mayor's throne, Democratic Joseph Paul one needs to take a look back at the recent disaster call the government shutdown.
The gutless wonder of an octoroon in the White House acted like a Chicago street thug and refused to deal with any person in Congress just to prove he was the boss.
The country got an international black eye.
The little people, in Stratford, the one's that live paycheck to paycheck, collect food stamps (we can't call them that now because it's politically incorrect) SAP benefits.
The Stratford veterans needing help, the social security folks who live from check to check and the 401 K folks who saw their two bedroom home in Fort Myers Florida turn into a little grass shack were the ones who got stressed, had chest pains, and probably drank too much waiting for the government meltdown were the ones who got hurt.
The idiots in Washington in both houses, collected paychecks for their $200 haircuts, apartments for their mistresses and male companions and let the little people sweat.
I stand with Sarah Palin.
A deadly attractive woman who is also deadly with a long gun and hand gun.
 Everyone blamed the Republicans.
Yes their are idiots in both parties in Washington.
The capitol was built on a swamp, the primeval fumes underground probably still seeping into the chambers of both houses might explain their actions.
One can not blame the state and local Republicans and Democrats for the actions of the people in Washington.
Its not right to shoot the locals for the deeds of the Washington clan.
A quick check of local business owners indicated they did loose business as the shutdown dragged on so it did have an effect on the town.
The town's new EMS boss will not make public EMS run records.
I have been told the chest pains and stress related calls went into the red zone during the shutdown.
Now to the main event, Paul vs Harkins.
This is a black and white election.
It's a fact of life.
It's not politically correct, but its' the truth.
Get use to it kiddies.
In one corner we have Paul, the Democratic, who at one point worked for one of those banks that could not fail and was let go for reasons that can't be made public.
Right, any self respecting investigating journalist, New York Post style, could find out in a minute what is actually the reason Paul went south from the job.
The local media apparently does not like to dig for information, when they can get some of it spoon fed by the EMS operation and the Toma's de Torquemada.
Paul is working with an interesting group of supporters.
They include supports of a former Democratic candidate.
"Persons of interest" to certain state and federal officials and the Bridgeport group are all helping in his campaign.
One state representative from Bridgeport is under investigation by the state and has been stripped of all committee duties, while her mother, the Registrar of Voters in Bridgeport is another "person of interest."
Note to Mayor Harkins: I have a great Kevlar outfit that can be worn under a shirt and no one can tell it's there.
Its yours to rent.
I believe the people working at the polls are going to be in for a long day, along with the folks at town hall who have to check the vital information; name and addresses of a voters who does not show up on the voting list.
The Torquemada should put an officer at each polling place in plain sight for this election.
Now Harkins is no saint, he does hid under a desk, he has a pit bull for a chief of staff, and he does not respond to E-mails.
I am still waiting for an FOI request regarding the National Helicopter Museum.
No John, I am not going to let the NHM issue die.
Harkins has done a good job running the city.
Anyone is better then the family of grave robbers that sat in the chair before him.
The fire union, which was a big supporter of Harkins has gone quite.
I asked several people via E-Mail if the union would support Harkins again.
No answer from anyone.
Interesting.
I have always support the fire service here in town.
My sources in the department have gone underground.
If Harkins can win the North End, Lordship, and the surrounding districts he has a chance.
The South End will go for Paul.
It's going to be a long, long night for the poll workers.
I hope I am wrong, but I believe it will be a close elections.
Only in Stratford, kiddies, only in Stratford.
