McCoy's and Little Moe's cut back on lunch hours in recent weeks.

It may be the hot weather or it could be the economy, but both McCoy's Pub and Little Moe's Restaurant have in recent weeks cut back their hours for lunch.

There are now only two restaurants in the downtown area which provide lunch seven days a week.

Acapulco's Restaurant on Main Street and the Station House Wine Bar and Grill on the westbound side of the train station provide lunch service all seven days of the week.

McCoy's Pub, seems to be closed for lunch on Monday, Tuesday and sometimes on Wednesday during the week.

Little Moe's is closed all of Monday with cut back hours on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Siene Restaurant also on Main Street is open from time to time.

Enought said on that issue

This is always a bad time of the year for restaurants, even the one's that have outside dinning service available.

Little Moe's and McCoy's both have tables set up outside when they are opened but every time I do my power walk pass the two no patrons seem to be around.

I will not set foot in McCoy's.

The owner, a retired member of the Toma's de Torquemada from Waterbury, apparently has the same customer service outlook as Stratford's Torquemada.

Enough said on that issue.

The former owners, of McCoy's , Mr. and Mrs. McCoy have moved upscale, Lynore at Station House and Dan at the redone Windmill Restaurant.

Am working on a visit to the Windmill but that hill on Barnum Avenue is a killer.

Steven's Pub is now long gone and there is now a cute little Shriner doll in the front window.

A new restaurant or a private club ???

Acapulco's Restaurtant open seven days a week does have a happy hour from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

You do have to ask the barperson about the happy hour.

Outside dinning is also available.

There is a food platter for $10 and the Mexican beer is $3 for a full pint.

The check tells you that you got a "Happy Mexican" beer when you pay the tab.

There is also dancing after 10 p.m. on the weekend.

Station House also open seven days a week does a good happy hour from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with $1 dollar off all drinks and half price appetizer's.

The sushi bar is open every day but Monday.

Sam, the chief sushi person has converted me to Shrimp Tempura, it is to die for.

I was at one point not a fan of sushi after being laid low in New York from the sushi from hell.

There is also music or trivia after happy hour during the week and the weekends at Station House.

My deep throat's tell me at least one of the restaurants may be at death's door.

Another one is allegedly going  to be expanding it's happy hour from Noon to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday if all things go according to plan.

I know which one is at death's door and which one will may expand happy hour.

I just need to confirm my information before I name, names.
