A need for citizen help for hot patch, cold patch, or asphalt for the walkway at the train station.

The town's public works department has apparently shown little or no interest in the paving, patching or cleaning of two walkways at the train station.
One walkway located on the westbound side of the station that leads to parking lot "K' is still over grown, unlighted and a hazard to anyone coming off the train to his or her car in lot "K".
The other walkway is located at the rear of parking lot "A" which leads to Shelton Square.
It also is over grown, unlighted and a hazard to anyone using it as a short cut to Shelton Square.
Many of the young people use the walkway to get from their homes to where they work in the three shopping area's on Barnum Avenue cutoff.
It is a miracle that no commuter has broken, twisted or gotten mugged as she or he leaves the northbound side of the parking lot and goes over to lot "K".
One who hope that some Stratford contractor, or paving company will take pity of the commuters who use the lot and donate some hot patch, cold patch, a chain saw and some manpower to cut away some roots and use the tar, asphalt, cold patch or hot patch to make the path at least a little more safe for the commuters.
The same goes for the walkway at the end of the other parking lot.
The movement to knock down the former doctor's office and liquor store has very slowly moved forward.
The United Illuminate Co has taken down the electrical wires leading into the building and the state Department of Transportation has indicated they intend to demolish the 50-year-old building.
Maybe with any luck the area will be turned into another parking lot before the real cold weather arrives and the asphalt plants close for the season.
Only in Stratford kiddies, only in Stratford.
