"Publishing 101" at the Stratford Library

The Stratford Library Reference Department will present “Publishing 101”, a how-to for potential authors on Wednesday, July 16 from 6:30-8 pm.  The program, hosted by Editorial Director Deb Werksman, is free and open to the public.

The Library program will reveal how a novel is acquired by a publisher, what a publisher does for an author and much more.  Deb Werksman has been with Sourcebooks, a large independent publisher, for the past sixteen years before which she had her own publishing company. She is the editorial director of romance fiction and acquires single title romance in all subgenres, as well as historical and women's fiction. Sourcebooks publishes 8-10 romance titles per month in both print and ebook formats. It is the country's largest woman-owned independent publishing house known for their sales and marketing, as well as their focus on building authors' careers.

“Publishing 101” will be held in the air-conditioned Lovell Room of the Stratford Library, 2203 Main Street in Stratford, Connecticut on Wednesday, July 16 starting at 6:30 pm.  For further information, call the Library Adult Services Department at 203.385.4161 or visit: www.stratfordlibrary.org.
