Monday Matinee Series at the Stratford Library Continues with "Gravity"

The Stratford Library’s “Monday Matinees” series continues with a screening of the 2013 “Best Director” Oscar winner, “Gravity” on July 14. The series presents recent, popular films twice monthly on Monday afternoons at noon from June-August. The film showings are free and open to the public.

“Gravity” wowed audiences upon its release last year with its state-of-the-arts special effects in the telling of its tense story about an astronaut (Sandra Bullock) who suddenly finds herself stranded in space.  Bullock was nominated for her near-solo performance but director Alfonso Cuaron won for his truly astonishing work on the blockbuster.  The film is rated PG:13 and runs 91 minutes.

Movies in the “Monday Matinees” series are shown uncut on widescreen in the Stratford Library’s air-conditioned Lovell Room. The summer series will continue with showings of “American Hustle” (July 28) and “Nebraska” (August 11).
