UPDATE: Power Outages in Stratford Down to 46

Thursday night's storm packed a punch in Stratford but most residents now are back in the light.

The number of United Illuminating customers in Stratford without power is down to 46, according to UI's outage map as of 10:42 p.m. That's less than 1 percent of the utility company's customers in town.

Earlier in the night (see last update), the outage map estimated it would take until 6 a.m. for most of Stratford to have its power restored.

There are now 2,275 United Illuminating customers in Stratford without power or about 10 percent of the utility company's customers in town.

More than half of those in the dark -- 1,305 customers -- are in the Lordship section of town. According to UI's outage map, there are crews there now and those residents can expect to have their power back by 10:51 p.m.

Customers in other areas of Stratford won't be so lucky, according to the map, which was last updated 9:29 p.m.

The more than 1,000 customers in North Stratford can expect to have their power restored by 6 a.m., the map shows. Twenty-six customers in Central Stratford can also expect to have their power back by that time.

As of 8:55 p.m. Thursday, 1,331 United Illuminating customers in Stratford were without power, which equates to 5.76 percent of the utility company's customers in town.

The majority of the outages are in Lordship, according to the UI outage map as well as posts on our Facebook page.

The map shows that 1,305 customers are without power in Lordship. Crews are en route and the estimated restoration time is 12:16 a.m., according to the utility company.

"Lost power in Lordship already," wrote Sarah Martin at 8:06 p.m. "Not sure what the extent is, but can't see any lights on in surrounding houses or the street over."

"Lordship is without power, saw something huge, figuring the substation blew something expensive," wrote Robert Chambers at 8:43 p.m.

"Live near paradise green and have power," wrote Kristi Mudre Verkovod at 8:07 p.m. "Good luck lordship!"
