Town Officials Designate Baldwin as Cooling Center

With temperatures in the mid-90s, the senior center is open to residents in need of refuge.

will be utilized from noon to 9 p.m. today as a cooling center for any Stratford citizen in need of a respite from the excessive heat.

The town's decision to utilize the Baldwin Senior Center, located on West Broad Street, as a cooling center came in light of local weather forecasts predicting temperatures topping 95 degrees accompanied by high humidity, according to Chief of Staff Marc Dillon.

The need for the cooling center will be assessed on a day-by-day basis moving forward, Dillon said.
