Stricken Plane Lands Safely on One Engine

Twin-engine plane makes emergency landing at Sikorsky Memorial Airport Saturday after one engine cuts out.

A twin-engine plane with five people on board made an emergency landing this morning at Sikorsky Memorial Airport in Stratford after one engine malfunctioned.

Stratford Assistant Fire Chief John Conway said the incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. when one of the plane’s two engines cut out and could not be restarted.

Firefighters from the Stratford Fire Department and Bridgeport Fire Department responded to the scene, but Conway said the aircraft landed safely on the one remaining engine.
