Stratford Women Nabbed in Westport for Shoplifting

Police reports said the suspects possessed shoplifting tools designed to thwart store security measures.

Police in Westport found $1,030 worth of loot in the trunk of three alleged shoplifters, two of them from Stratford, which has seen its share of shoplifting arrests.

The Westport News reported this week that two Stratford women, Leenice Pierce and Deanisha Pierce, and an alleged accomplice from Bridgeport, were arrested on larceny charges for thefts from several stores in that town.

The women possessed shoplifting tools used for removing or thwarting store security measures, leading to additional charges of possession of shoplifting devices, according to police reports quoted by the newspaper.
