(Oct. 3) Did you know? In 1941 we opened the first summer daycamp in the town of Stratford, Connecticut. Like this post if you've been a camper here!

Stratford Fire Department

(Oct. 2) This years Annual Open House and Fire Prevention Fair will be held on Saturday October 20th from 0900 til 1400 and will include a pancake breakfast which will run from 0900 till 1100.

As in years past we will be conducting a live fire evolution, car extrication demonstration as well as Home Depot will be on site doing a building exercise for children.

Westport Fire Department will be loaning us their Home Fire Safety Trailer for kids to learn and practice proper home exiting procedures during a fire.

We hope to see all of you there.

The Great Stratford Bird Festival

(Sept. 27) This just in.....We'll have "Snappy Dawgs" food truck parked at our festival on October 6th and 7th. They'll be serving breakfast and lunch. At last....food on the festival grounds! (Click here to read more about this weekend's festival.)

Sunny Side Breakfast & Beyond

(Sept. 25) Catching that 7am train? No more will you be forced to have a microwaved egg sandwich from one of the coffee chains down the street. Sunny Side is now opening at 6:30 am with new early bird and take out specials. Stop in and start your day off right!

Two Roads Brewing Company

(Two Roads is in the process of constructing a brewery at the former U.S. Baird property at 1700 Stratford Ave. Click on their name above to see recent photos.)

(Oct. 1) A momentous occasion! Beer is now flowing (although it's in small quantities) at Two Roads! We brewed our first batch on our pilot brewing system - a white IPA. The best part is, it's ready to be tasted today - this week is shaping up nicely!

Stratford Recreation

(Oct. 4) VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY- Stratford Recreation is seeking volunteers to be judges for kite flying contest at Short Beach, THIS SUNDAY, from 11:45-12:45. Rain or Shine. Contact Coreen Jennifer Ahmad for more info or to confirm.

(Oct. 4) Just a few short weeks to our Zombie Walk and Pub Crawl. Sign up and join the fun for a great cause!

(Sept. 28) With the holidays rapidly approaching there will be in influx of candy and baked goods in the house. Here is a reminder of the foods to keep away from your dogs.

Stratford Animal Rescue Society

(Oct. 3) Come one, come all! We have something for everyone. The final countdown...(insert music)...lol. Just a few days away and we are looking forward to an awesome festival this year!

We've got tons of items in our Silent Auction, all sorts of food...kettle corn, gourmet coffee, paninis, Latin, fried oreos, cupcakes, pizza, burgers/dogs and more. We have lots of vendors of all types!!! Contests, games, music, educational seminars, blessing of the pets and a one mile dog walk down Main Street! (Click here for more info.)
