Stratford EMS Bike Team Gets Funding

A $7,500 allocation will go toward new bikes, ancillary equipment and uniforms.

The following is a post on the Stratford Volunteer EMS Association's Facebook page on Tuesday, April 30:

Good Luck Team, Well Done:

At the regularly scheduled Town Council meeting held on Monday, April 8, 2013, The Town Council approved the allocation of $7,500 from the EMS Funding account to the EMS Department for the purpose of procuring new bicycles, ancillary equipment and uniforms for the EMS Bike Team.

These funds are earmarked for the specific purpose of the petition and cannot be used for anything else. We will have 90 days from the issuance of the funds from the Finance Department to earmark and order/spend the monies. Any unused funds must be returned to the EMS Enterprise Fund.

Ferenc (Frank) Bozso and Kevin Saranich have spearheaded the rebirth of the Bike Team over the past year, and were instrumental in getting the required volunteer signatures for the petition and forwarding it through to the EMS Funding Committee. They have also prepared detailed information on the preferred equipment and uniforms for the team.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank both Frank and Kevin for a job well done.
