Stratford Declares State of Emergency

The following release from the office of Mayor John A. Harkins explains what it means to residents

Stratford Mayor John A. Harkins has declared a state of emergency ahead of Hurricane Sandy, effective at 6 p.m. [Saturday]. The declaration allows the town maximum flexibility in preparing for and managing the effects of the storm.

Additionally, the town will have a limited number of sandbags available to the public beginning Sunday, Oct. 27 at 9 a.m in the Public Works yard, located at 550 Patterson Ave.

Additional updates will be forthcoming as events warrant.
