Short Beach Comes Up Short in Report on Water Quality

Stratford's popular public beach ranks as one of the poorest in the state for high bacteria levels.

Its playground, skate park, bathrooms, picnic tables, volleyball and basketball courts and ball fields might make in , but a new report says its beach water isn’t so great.

According to an article by the Connecticut Post, the report by the Natural Resources Defense Council ranked Short Beach among those public beaches with the highest bacteria levels in Connecticut.

The report ranked Connecticut poorly overall, placing it 26th out of the 30 states tested for water quality.
