Sequester: Six Connecticut Airports to Lose Control Towers

The FAA announced Friday six Connecticut airports are among the 149 nationwide which will lose control towers due to budget cuts.

 

Six Connecticut airports will lose their control towers due to budget cuts forced by sequestration, the Federal Aviation Administration announced Friday.

According to WTNH, the aiports to lose control towers are as follows:

  • Brainard Airport, Hartford (HFD)
  • Danbury Municipal Airport, Danbury (DXR)
  • Groton-New London Airport, Groton (GON)
  • Sikorsky Memorial Airport, Stratford (BDR)
  • Tweed-New Haven Airport, New Haven (HVN)
  • (OXC)

The closures will begin April 7, according to the report.
