Here's the story from yesterday:

The 4th annual Riverlights Housatonic Boat Parade will brighten a fresh autumn sky tonight.

"You'll see boats towing other boats towing other boats," Stratford Fire Department Lt. Jim Mecozzi said of the event that has boat owners rigging their vessels with bright lights and unique props.

At a parade three years ago, one boater outfitted his craft with a smoke shell, said Scott Corner, a member of the town's Waterfront Harbor Management Commission.

Proceeds from the parade will go to cancer research and care within St. Vincent's Medical Center Foundation's Swim Across the Sound programs. The procession starts at the Moses Wheeler Bridge on the Milford/Stratford line at 7 p.m. and makes its way down the Housatonic until it reaches Knapp's Landing before heading back up the river.

Milford's Valley Yatch Club organizes the parade, which, as of Sept. 18, had 20 captains signed up, Corner said.
