Pumpkins, Parade, Hayride, More at Weekend Festival

The annual Boothe Memorial Park Great Pumpkin Festival kicks off at 1 p.m. on Satuday, Oct. 15.

Giant pumpkins transformed into works of art, a children's costume parade and horse-drawn hayrides are only a few of the attractions at this year's Boothe Memorial Park Great Pumpkin Festival, slated for Saturday, Oct. 15, from 1 to 5 p.m.

The festival is sponsored by the Boothe Park commission and the town of Stratford, and is still seeking volunteers to sell refreshments, collect tickets and assist in the parade and other activities. To volunteer, contact Stephanie Philips at 203.377.2119 or via email at sphilips@townofstratford.com.

The children's costume parade steps off at 3 p.m. The annual festival also features a DJ, blacksmith demonstrations, games, face painting, moonbounces and more. The event will also showcase the many unique and historic buildings at the park including tours of the Model Train Museum and Observatory.
