North Carolina Lures Company Out of Stratford

Carolina Precision Plastics will move its Stratford operation to Mocksville, N.C.

Employing , North Carolina has lured a plastics company to move its operation to the South with a hefty government grant.

PlasticsNews.com, an online industry newsletter, said that Carolina Precision Plastics will receive a $250,000 grant in return for consolidating its Stratford operation at a new facility it is building in Mocksville, N.C. (the newsletter mistakenly said it was in South Carolina). A company official said the lower cost of doing business in North Carolina was another reason for the move.

The state recently awarded a $500,000 grant for environmental cleanup of a Stratford industrial site to the Two Roads Brewing Company that wants to open a brewery at the old U.S. Baird site at 1700 Stratford Ave.
