Milford I-95 Rest Stop Has Fresh New Look [PHOTOS]

CT-made products and more food options are among the features.

Solar panels and shiny new fuel pumps set before a brand spanking new service center are the first sights a motorist will see when pulling into the Interstate 95 rest stop in Milford, just before exit 41 on the northbound side.

Unless it's just a drive-thru visit, once parked a traveler will step inside to a bright, open space that offers an assortment of food options, restrooms, a place to sit and eat or relax and a selection of souvenirs that are either made in or represent the Nutmeg State.

Statement, the store selling "All Things Connecticut," lives up to its name with products from , , , Munson's Chocolates, WWE, and flowers fresh from a farm in Cheshire, among others. The store also sells shirts that say Fairfield, Yale and UNH, as well as sunglasses and other items.

Statement is a joint venture by Hamden brothers Peter and Robb Fertiguena. Peter says they get some local lunch crowds during the week, but the real action happens on Saturdays and Sundays. "The weekends have been great with travelers and families," Peter says.

Other stores include:

  • Dunkin' Donuts
  • Good To Go Gourmet
  • McDonald's
  • Sbarro
  • Subway
  • Robek's (coming soon)
