Metro-North Employee from Stratford Hailed for Rescue Role

Frank Langston of Stratford was one of the RR workers who helped firefighters pluck a man off high-voltage power lines.

Four Metro-North workers, including one from , who interrupted to help rescue a trespasser from railroad power lines were honored this week by the American Red Cross.

According to the Stratford Star, Frank Langston of Stratford was one of the four men who assisted West Haven firefighters in March when the trespasser was discovered dangling from high-voltage power lines.

The four railroad employees stopped firefighters from touching live power lines until they could implement safety protocols that are also credited with the life of the trespasser.
