Local Animal Shelters Say Their Pets Need Homes

Shelter officials were surprised when Chihuahuas were brought to Connecticut from California this weekend.

A pet adoption event in this weekend for Chihuahuas brought here from California and other states surprised animal shelter officials and volunteers, who note that their facilities are overflowing with dogs and cats that are up for adoption.

According to an article by the New Haven Register, New Haven’s animal shelter is especially overcrowded.

The New Haven shelter and the North Shore Animal League will at Pet Supplies Plus, 471 Boston Post Road.
