Hearing Thursday for Proposed Pier in Lordship

The 68-foot pier would extend over the beach into Long Island Sound.

A proposal to build a 68-foot pier in Lordship at 245 Bayview Boulevard will be the topic of a public hearing Thursday, March 29, at 7 p.m. at .

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) has already made "a tentative determination to approve" the application submitted by Charles and Kathleen Woods-King, whose Bayview address above the pier would start from before heading into Long Island Sound.

The pier, which, according to the Stratford Star, walkers on the beach would have to walk under at low tide, would also "significantly impact a shellfish area," the director of the Bureau of Aquaculture at the Department of Agriculture determined.
