Halloween had been postponed again because of weather.

Updated Wednesday 11:30 a.m.

Stratford has decided to postpone townwide Halloween activities to Saturday, Nov. 10, due to the impending storm expected to hit the area today.

"Due to the impending storm, Halloween in Stratford has been moved to Saturday, Nov. 10," Marc Dillon, the mayor's chief of staff, wrote in a 11:17 a.m. email Wednesday.

Halloween's a Go Despite Impending Nor'easter (Posted Monday)

For those wondering: Halloween, in spite of an impending nor'easter, is still on for Wednesday, Nov. 7, after being postponed a week because of Hurricane Sandy.

"It is set for Wednesday," Marc Dillon, the mayor's chief of staff, wrote in an email to Stratford Patch. "No plans on moving it again. Sandy was a unique event."

The National Weather Service (NWS) in New York has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the area on Wednesday night.

According to the NWS, "A significant coastal storm will likely impact the tri-state region Wednesday and Thursday. Confidence continues to increase that strong gusty winds...rain/wintry precipication...coastal flooding and additional beach erosion will result from this system."

In light of the forecast some Stratford residents are calling for the cancelation of Halloween, while others say use your best judgement when deciding to go out.

"Canceling to keep kids safe and out of harm's way would be the smart thing!" commented a resident on the Stratford Patch Facebook page.

"No need to cancel. Make a judgement call!" wrote another.

And yet another resident commented, as people continue to recover from Hurricane Sandy, "giving some normality in an otherwise far from normal situation is sometimes the best medicine."
