Gun-rights advocates holding signs that read "We Will Not Comply" and "Dictators Prefer Unarmed Citizens" reportedly flooded the State Capitol in Hartford Monday.
The New York Times reports that more than 1,000 people took to Hartford to protest proposals for gun control, many arguing the aggressive push by Democrats infringes individual rights and fails to address the issue of gun violence.
"I almost get the impression they're going to ignore us," 22-year-old John Agnese told the newspaper.
Meanwhile, a poll by Quinnipiac University last week found 68 percent of Connecticut voters support expanding the statewide ban on assault weapons, and that even gun owners are split on the issue of weapons control.
