Javier Colon's Homecoming

Stratford residents and fans welcomed Javier Colon back to his alma mater Sunday as hundreds gathered at Bunnell High School in celebration of the Stratford native's recent win on NBC's "The Voice."

Farmers' Market

Stratford's weekly farmers' market runs from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the parking lot of Deluca Field. The market features Connecticut-grown fruits and vegetables, freshly-cut herbs and flowers, local shellfish, baked goods and crafts. Check back tomorrow for a feature on the market.

Town Council Meeting

The Town Council will assemble for a regularly scheduled meeting at 8 p.m. tonight at Town Hall Council Chambers. A couple items on the agenda are the purchase of six battery-powered stretchers and the selection of an architect for Honeyspot School.

Sikorsky Plane Crash Update

Sikorsky Memorial Airport Manager John Ricci is waiting for a preliminary report from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) regarding the June 25 plane crash at the Bridgeport-owned airport located in Stratford.

In the meantime, Stratford Mayor John Harkins is saying if Bridgeport cannot operate the facility safely, "the city should shut it down." Click here to read more. 

Blood Pressure Screenings at Baldwin Center

Representatives from Bridgeport Hospital will be providing blood pressure screenings at Baldwin Center from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. today. No appointment is required.
