5 Things: Dog Park Forum; Theatre Events; Christmas Fair; and More

The workweek is over, for most of us. Here are some things to do today to relax.

The movement to bring a dog park to Stratford takes another step today as residents will hold an open meeting at from 10 a.m. to noon.

"The purpose of the meeting will just be to bounce ideas off of one another," resident Carissa Mason wrote on the event's Facebook page. It's expected that a dog park petition will be presented soon to the Stratford Town Council.

Archives from the American Shakespeare Festival Theatre dominate a gallery at the Fairfield Museum and History Center.

Original dresses that stars like Katharine Hepburn wore are only a fraction of what the exhibition highlights. The museum is located at 370 Beach Road in Fairfield and is open from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Our Lady of Grace Christmas Fair

The fair will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and feature crafts and new items for purchase. There will be lots of food, beverages and a bake sale.

Our Lady of Grace is located at 497 Second Hill Lane.

"Ancestral Voices" is a warm family comedy. According to The New York Times, "The hybrid Mr. Gurney has created is as elegantly faceted as a marquise diamond."

Saturday's showtime is 8 p.m. Tickets ($19) can be purchased by phone by calling 203.375.8778, online by visiting www.squareonetheatre.com, and also at the box office 60 minutes before the performance.

The theatre is located at 2422 Main St.

Then get in on a virtual discussion of what residents have to say about what the former Rivenova downtown space should contain now that the Italian restaurant has closed down.

Ideas such as a bike shop, a clothing store and an Indian restaurant have been thrown around the comments section, which as of Friday night had 37 responses.
