Registration and Program overview of Sterling House's teen youth Counselor in Training (CIT) Program for the summe of 2013.

The Sterling House Community Center is excited to announce this summer’s day camp will offer a Counselor-In-Training (CIT) Character and Leadership Development program for young adults entering 9th, through 12th grades, and who are 14 years old by July 1st.

“The CIT Character and Leadership Program consists of 5 two-hour sessions that emphasize leadership, child development and safety, and program skills development that will enable young adults to assist in all areas of camp with confidence,” according to Robert Wargo, Volunteer Director and Co Director of the center’s Sterling Park Day Camp.  “Additional development will occur daily through the experiences volunteers are exposed to throughout the summer day camp season,” Wargo elaborated.

A parent and youth information and registration session is scheduled for Wednesday, March 6, at 6:30 p.m. at Sterling House, 2283 Main Street, Stratford.   The CIT Character and Leadership Program is a prerequisite for the Junior Counselor program, which is the high school aged youth volunteer program for Sterling Park Summer Day Camp.
