Who Makes Stratford's Best Burger?

In this week's Readers' Choice contest we want you to tell us who has the tastiest, juiciest, most delicious burgers in town -- and what makes them so darn good?

In its purest form it's just a beef patty on a bun. But today's burgers are much more complex, with toppings that range from the classic lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup and mustard to items that include everything from bacon, mushrooms, jalapenos and avocado to a fried egg or chili. You could even get a burger made from turkey meat or bison, or a veggie one, too.

When it comes down to it, you could put just about anything on a burger. And there are some great restaurants serving some incredible burgers right here in Stratford.

In this week's Readers' Choice contest, we want to know which place has the absolute best burger in town. Vote for your favorite in the poll and, most importantly, rate and review the place in our directory (by clicking on the links below) and drop a comment on this article.

Here's our starter list (let us know if we're missing anyone):

Let me get this straight--YOU bought Bun'n'Burger because they had a Very Well Esatblished Business--They had GreatOwners/Great Product/GreatService and ALWAYS with a smile. You bought this business only to make a Pubic SNARKY Comment--If this is how you do business and want to win customers -- GOOD LUCK!!!!!! You will need it.!!!!

I think Lordship Pizza (aka BO'S) has the best burgers in Stratford. They are juicy with any toppings you want with the freshest rolls! It is a family run business and Bo and Rob put lots of extra touches in their reciepes. Without a doubt they are the best in town!!!

Thanks, Tina. I'll add them to the article and poll. Be sure to leave a glowing review on their directory listing page.

She didn't buy the store....this is from a person that operates the cash register. I bought from the same place Bun 'n Burger bought their meat from and it is the best!

Hannah's Kitchen has by far the best burgers. They use fresh (never frozen) black angus beef, never premade patties and never chintzy with a 1/2lb of that scrumptious black angus beef used, a wide variety of toppings available, several cheeses available all Boars Head and ALWAYS cooked to order. Priced right as well!!!!

I've eaten PLENTY of Bun N Burger burgers. LOL. I can tell you they were FANTASTIC. I look forward to sampling Sunrise Grille's!

I have lived all around the country and I have to say that Hannah's Kitchen is a stand out. As time has passed I am less of a burger person, but I ordered a burger from Hannah's and was satisfied beyond my expectations. I wish that I could keep this gem of a deli/restaurant to myself but it is too good to keep secret. My taste buds are treated, my stomach is full and I feel so good about Hannah's that I actually feel friendlier. I know that it's a cliche, but there's love in the burgers at Hannah's.

Gotta love Hannah's

I am partial to McCoy's burgers! Always made with the best and freshiest ingredients. Glenn and the chef never cut corners when it comes to the best food for their valued customers. Actually, everything on their menu is delicious.

No need to tarnish the memory of Bun n Burger there, Kim... but on a separate note I did recently try a Sunrise Grill burger and it was delicious--hand made, nicely seasoned and most tasty. Now I want one.
Sunrise Grille June 23, 2012 at 10:25 PM
First, we owe an apology to Maureen and Bun n' Burger. One of the reasons why we purchased the business was because of Maureen's experience, knowledge, and product quality at Bun n' Burger.  What Kim said was disheartening and indeed unprofessioanl. We do not encourage that type of attitude with our employees and do not plan to run our business that way either. Despite the situation, we hope that the town of Stratford will give us a chance and try the new menu that we have to offer.
Jim Ravis June 23, 2012 at 11:45 PM
@sunrise.... It took you over a month to respond to a comment made by one of your employees? I'll be going somewhere else.
Sunrise Grille June 24, 2012 at 06:58 PM
Jim - our apologies. Unfortunately, this was recently brought to our attention and we tried to address it as soon as possible. We are sorry that you feel this way.
gail jarvis June 24, 2012 at 09:36 PM
Sunrise---- You finally responded!!! This was not "just computer chat" This was "Town Talk"!!! As I said before Good Luck--you will need it.

There are plenty of people in this town that do not read The Patch. To the best of my knowledge The Patch does not notify people who have been nominated or have even won. I happen to know a business that did win, and when I mentioned it to them, they had no idea what the patch even was. Yes, the employee of the Sunrise Grille and made her employers look bad. However, I think that the apology by the owners was quite sincere and should be taken at face value regardless of the amount of time that has passed since the comment was made. Sunrise Grille is Kim's employer not her mommy and daddy. They are in no way responsible for her behavior, and can only deal with the aftermath as best they can. It is hard enough to get any new business in this town. Let alone a successful one. Why not cut them a break?

Great to read about so many Stratford burger places with high quality beef and great taste. My tastes are different than most people and in all honesty, who am I to say the way I like very limited preparation and additions make my selection superior to others? Further it's good that owners and employees have pride in their business' product.
Old Man July 11, 2012 at 02:22 PM
Agree with JibCT. There were only 306 votes for best burger. Not earth-shattering numbers. Nobody cares who says what - back it up with tasty food.
