This Is What a Failed Stratford Restaurant Inspection Looks Like

Maureen Whelan, environmental health supervisor at the Stratford Health Department, won't call it a Wall of Shame.

"It's a teaching tool," she says of a collection of photos from failed restaurant inspections posted on the wall opposite her desk.

Whelan says the photos are used in presentations to Bunnell and Stratford high school students who are interested in pursuing a career in health.

She says the photos are mainly common violations her inspectors have seen over the last five or so years -- although maybe not the one of a worker passed out on a block of cardboard boxes.

Stratford Patch was at the health department Tuesday for the latest restaurant inspection reports, which we'll post Wednesday.
